I'm going to have to miss the Austin spaced-a-thon. It would seem that I am jinxed - I couldn't attend the one in London because of work and commitments in London again prevent me from attending the one in Austin. I am however almost certain that I will come for the butt-numb-a-thon in december, as I am told that Austin is the best city in the WORLD. The tour has been amazing, I have felt the love in a profound way and have finally resolved to give up all forms of self -harm because of it - thank you America!!

It has been announced that Jessica is to star in The Norman Conquests
created by Alan Ayckbourn at The Old Vic theatre.
"The Old Vic brings Alan Ayckbourn's comic masterpieces, The Norman
Conquests to the London stage for the first time in 34 years. Matthew
Warchus (Speed-the-Plow, God of Carnage, The Lord of the Rings) directs
an outstanding ensemble cast including Amelia Bullmore, Jessica Hynes,
Stephen Mangan and Paul Ritter. Especially for this production The Old
Vic auditorium will be transformed into 'The CQS Space' to recreate the
intimate 'theatre-in-the-round' experience that the plays were originally
written for.
The interconnecting triptych of plays, Round and Round the Garden, Table
Manners and Living Together follow the same six characters, Norman, his
in-laws and the local vet over a summer weekend, in an English Country house.
Believing it his mission in life to make women happy by showering them
with love, Norman (Stephen Mangan) makes the most of every opportunity
to seduce his sister-in-law, Annie (Jessica Hynes), charms his
brother-in-law's wife, Sarah and woo his wife Ruth (Amelia Bullmore)
during this disastrous weekend of squabbling, eating, drinking and fondling.
Table Manners, Living Together and Round and Round the Garden are
ingeniously structured to allow each play to be enjoyed independently
or as a trilogy in any combination. Together they create a fascinating,
hilarious puzzle, which weaves a masterful web of interconnecting
secrets and desires."
Taken from The Old Vic theatre website.
"Despite all the buzz, and exec producer McG, and a "phenomenal cast",
Spaced is a no-go, I'm told. FBC just turned thumbs down on the WBTV/
Wonderland pilot, which was adapted from the successful British TV series."

Spaced in America by Jessica Hynes. March 4th 2008
Things have really hotted up in the last few days -
Simon Pegg vs Mc.G! Mc.G is a fat douche bag!
It's a f***ing travesty! (that's fucking). I felt
a tear come to my eye when I went on www.pinkraygun.com,
because she kind of said it for me. When someone else
fights your corner and feels your injustice for you it
rocks, let me tell you. So can I just say thank you
for that. You know who you are. x
It might make everyone feel better to know that I am
planning a counter attack; A British re-make of
Charlies Angels called Charlies Angles - about three
female architects who love to design buildings make
biscuits, and wear button up cardigans. That's gonna
hurt you Mc.G huh?- a remake of one of YOUR films
with no titties?? Huh??! HUH!!!
Anyway I'm going to keep it short - just wanted again
to reiterate that Simon, Edgar and I were not approached
- at any stage or consulted in anyway. In fact I approached
THEM in a very English way wondering if, you know
I'd been in the garden when they called, but have been
politely told that no official, meaningful involvement
( save wheeling us out to placate the fans) is possible.
So don't watch it, don't think about it - buy our
D.V.D coming out in America in the summer and
SAVE YOUR SOUL!!!!!
Hosted by acclaimed comedienne Jo Brand,
with special guests including Shazia Mirza
and Jessica Hynes (née Stevenson),
plus live music from leading jazz musicians
Nikki Yeoh and Serafina Steer, this special
event launches Birds Eye View's hunt for
new female comedy filmmaking talent in the UK.
Dounsy posted this message over on the
Spaced-Out.org.uk board yesterday.
"Got this note from Nira Park last night:
Very very sadly Jessica is not able to attend on
Saturday because she is filming. They have a big
day on Sat - shooting a huge fight sequence
at Ludlow Castle and they just can't release her.
She tried everything to get them to release her
and she is absolutely mortified. She will be
recording a message which will be played at the event."
Thanks to everyone that emailed and posted
messages for Jessica's birthday card.
It was given to her by me at the filming of
'The Wright Stuff' yesterday morning and she loved it!
Picture to follow soon.
